An international award-winning creative director/director and photographer, Kennedy’s extensive body of work features all genres of commercials, music videos, print, web, and feature films. His career has taken him all around the world, shooting in more than 20 countries.
Kennedy’s illustrious career got rolling in the music video world. Notable recording artist clients include Snoop Dogg, Janelle Monae, Rita Ora, De La Soul, Future, Paul McCartney, Lauryn Hill, Notorious B.I.G., and Fall Out Boy. His sense of beauty and fashion was evident in the videos and became the conduit to make the leap into major agency commercial work. It didn’t take long for the client list to grow beyond beauty as Kennedy diversified into other genres with kids, sports, and lifestyle work. His clients include Pantene, L’Oreal, Maybelline, Rimmel London, Levi’s, SAP, Macy’s, Biogen, 2K, Nestle, Coca-Cola, NBA, and Verizon.
Kennedy’s creative journey includes a strong still photography portfolio shooting celebrities, athletes, and models. He’s shot household names like Jennifer Garner, Kevin Hart, Maria Sharapova, Michael Strahan, Tyra Banks, Boomer Esiason, Phil Simms, Christy Turlington, and Victoria’s Secret’s favorite Angel, Adrianna Lima.
Kennedy is one of the pioneers of the “Branded Content” movement, which paved the way for a new wave of commercial content living beyond traditional broadcast outlets. Kamp Kennedy became the “go-to” creative for Garnier Fructis with major cobranded projects. He created the 7-year “Style Files” series featuring musicians at major music festivals. Next was his “Sing in the Shower” tour which started as a cross-country college tour activation, eventually landing in music festivals as well. His work and relationship with Rolling Stone Magazine on the “Women Who Rock” series lead to a feature film documentary. Presented by Rolling Stone, the film followed the remarkable story of the first unsigned band ever to make the magazine’s infamous cover, The Sheepdogs. The documentary was the featured rock doc and premiered at the Nashville Film Festival.
Most recently, he directed a mini-series featuring an Orc trying to become a UFC fighter to support the Netflix debut feature film “Bright” starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. With the success of that series, Netflix now has Kennedy on their Creative Development vendor list for content creation to leverage all series and features. His latest project is for the romantic comedy “Set It Up” starring Lucy Liu and Zoey Deutch.
Kennedy resides in NYC, but likes to go hide and write in his Southampton home where he also raised his son, Grayson.
