Both living and dead showed up to Chimney’s premiere event of The Dead Don’t Die, Jim Jarmusch’s star-studded zombie comedy
On August 9, Chimney’s Gothenburg office together with Film i Väst hosted a preview of the film, which opened the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
Chimney executed all VFX shots for the zombie-filled dark comedy, which opens in Swedish theatres on August 30.
Prior to the screening, Gothenburg office CEO Jenny Stamming spoke to the crowd about the similarities between creating films that capture audiences on the big screen—and communications, which capture brands’ target audiences.
VFX producer Andreas Hylander led the work from Chimney’s Gothenburg office, working closely with Chimney’s New York office to produce the entirety of the film’s special effects (and they were many!). He described what it was like to work with a director as legendary as Jim Jarmusch and what the creative process was like when it comes to killing zombies.
The Chimney Gothenburg office is now looking forward to showcasing more films it has worked on—director Jesper Ganslandt’s drama, 438 days, is next in line.
