We’re already halfway through summer! And while many of us are away on holiday recharging our batteries, we have the chance to look back at the first half of 2019—and our work here at Chimney.

Over the past several months, I watched with great thrill and humility as many of our partnerships and collaborations thrived. As always, this was made possible thanks to the passion and dedication of my dear colleagues here at Chimney, and our clients who put their trust in us to deliver nothing short of the best.

It’s been exciting, for instance, to watch as our Gothenburg and NY office’s collaboration on Jim Jarmusch’s dark comedy “The Dead Don’t Die” became the talk of town—on both sides of the Atlantic.

We also completed all the post work on Madonna’s bold new video—and worked on a rather epic Game of Thrones trailer for HBO, if I may say so myself. We even humbly managed to collect a few more awards for our roster along the way…

Here’s more on these and other highlights based on work delivered over the past half year (and you can find the full list further down below).

Wishing you all a continued great summer full of warmth and joy!

The Dead Don't Die—A Global Collaboration

Our New York and Gothenburg offices worked closely with Jim Jarmusch on setting up a post-plan that would work for his zombie comedy. In Gothenburg, our work was then effectively split using the extraordinary VFX know-how of our friend Alex Hansson at Haymaker, and our own agile and multitalented Andreas Hylander.

Andreas led the time to design and execute more zombie-shots than he could count, while New York handled all the curious other shots which are aplenty in the film.

And—just in case you missed it—our team attended the film’s premiere (opening film!) in Cannes. The film opened in the USA in June and opens in Sweden at the end of August. Look out for it!

From L to R: Andreas Hylander, Sam O’Hare, Nicole Melius and Fredrik Zander in Cannes.
