We are thrilled to announce that The Wild Pear Tree will be premiering at the Festival de Cannes in May
Directed by Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan, the feature film The Wild Pear Tree tells the touching story about an up-and-coming writer – Sinan – who fights to finance his work. Sinan returns to his birth village to try to gather the money needed, but is hindered by memories of the loss of his father.
The film is a collaboration between seven countries and is co-produced by Chimney and Film i Väst. The post-production was conducted in Gothenburg and Trollhättan.
Jon Mankell, co-producer at Chimney says:
“Super excited that Chimney is a part of The Wild Pear Tree. I want to highlight our department in Gothenburg and our amazing partners Linda Forsén and Enric Production. Now we’re hoping for an award in Cannes!”, says Jon.
